In this introductory woodworking class on Monday November 18th, you'll learn how to use the Table Saw, Miter Saw, Drill Press, and Oscillating Sander to create an eco-friendly addition for the kitchen counter. This class will be taught by our very own Mark Thoson, and is a simplified version of a product he makes and sells at ETSY.COM. He'll provide a basic design template and hands-on instruction so you can create not one, but TWO drying racks! One for you, and one to give to your favorite baggie washer!
Participants will be able to customize their racks by electing different post layouts. Other modifications such as adding finishes, and/or routing the base edge will also be discussed.
Drying Racks encourage reuse and reduce plastic waste by providing a functional and attractive way to dry and reuse plastic bags, beeswax wraps, reusable cups, water bottles, and so much more! You can make a little something for yourself, the earth, and a friend!
