In this practical electronics workshop, you will assemble your very own eight digit calculator. Develop and practice your basic electronics skills by completing a simple, practical construction project in our educational and hands-on 'Build Your Own Calculator' Workshop. In this workshop, you will be guided through the process of constructing an ATmega328 based electronic Calculator Kit. Starting with 52 separate components, by the end of this workshop you have built a complete eight digit calculator, with percentage, square root and memory functions, plus an automatic power off.
Our fantastic team of friendly and knowledgeable Museum Volunteers will be there to lead you through clear step-by-step instructions for the assembly of your calculator. The Museum will provide all the tools/equipment required for the successful assembly of your kit. Please note, whilst not essential, some experience of soldering electronic components is beneficial to this workshop.
For any queries or further information please contact Emily Wager, our Events Communication Officer, at [email protected]. Alternatively, you can contact the Museum via telephone on 01908 374708.
