Build a Bed with Sleep in Heavenly Peace

Join us and other volunteers as we come together to build beds for children in Josephine County who don't have a bed to sleep in. You will be making it possible for 25 more children in Josephine County to have their own bed to sleep in.
No experience necessary. We have all the materials, tools and coaches to help along every step of the way. Building with us involves sanding, hammering, drilling, screwing, staining, and branding.

Instructions for after you register: Thank you for coming out to build beds for kiddos in Josephine County!! None of this would be possible without your support!! We will be working outside, in the covered gazebo or patio space at the Fairgrounds. While working with lumber and power tools may have some risk for injuries, each volunteer needs to make sure they use adequate personal protective equipment. Eye and hearing protection and a dust mask will be available at the check in table. If you already have these items personally, along with gloves, we encourage the use of equipment with which you are familiar. Any volunteer working with power tools must be at least 12 years of age. A parent, guardian, or chaperone, of any minor must be present during the build. At the check in table you will be provided with a name tag, then guided to a station. Personal protective equipment will be available if you need it. We will do our best to allow everyone to move around and try different stations throughout the day. This won’t be an exact science, so please bear with us. Even if you REALLY like the station you are on, we may ask you to allow someone else to try it. If at any point you need to take a break, please let your station coach know and they will find someone to fill in for you. The Build Day Coaches will be wearing red shirts. If you have any questions, please ask them. If they do not know the answer, they will find someone who does. There will be water, coffee, cookies and other snacks provided. Restrooms are available near the build site. Since the build will be relatively quick, we will not be providing lunch. Feel free to bring any snacks you may need. See you on October 11!
