Meet at the Willow River State Park Nature Center!***Seats are limited for this event. Registration required here: https://tinyurl.com/WillowBatHouse***
International bat week is approaching (October 24-31)! Join us as we kick off the celebration of this not-so-spooky Wisconsin mammal species with a hands-on project. Bats are important predators of mosquitoes and night-flying insects and can reduce pests around your home and garden.
Help keep these valuable mammals alive and well by building your very own bat house for both roosting and raising young. We’ll provide the majority of tools and supplies needed to build your bat house, but if you have a #2 phillips screwdriver, a 1-2" putty knife and a box cutter knife at home, bring them along with you! Please also note that you will need to paint your bat house black or brown once you bring it home. Although this workshop is geared towards adults, children ages 12 and up are welcome to attend the workshop accompanied by a parent or guardian.
This event costs $30 per bat house. Vehicle admission into the park is a separate and required fee.
