“Bugs on the Hooch 2025” is at it again. May 24th, Memorial Day weekend(Saturday) is the show date.
This is our 14th year and it’s really becoming a regular on the Vw scene. We’ve been featured in Hot Vw magazine. We were also given our very own day,….. May 21st is the official “Bugs on the Hooch day”. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE ACTUAL SHOW DATE.
Come to the National Civil War Naval Museum, 1002 Victory Drive Columbus Georgia 31901 for a really good time while not spending a lot of money.
Listed below is a loose itinerary of what to expect.
• FREE overnight camping Friday and Saturday
Camp Hoochee
• FREE drive-in theater on Friday night
• FREE for spectators
• FREE admission to the drone race (Saturday)
• FREE admission to the VW show
• FREE door prizes
• FREE fun for the children (bouncy houses)
• FREE family fun !!!!!
Along with all the FREE stuff, there will be military vehicles on display. If you have an old Jeep or deuce and a half, please bring it. No cost.
Be sure not to miss the drone race. The action gets pretty intense as the flyers compete.
If you haven’t seen the civil war cannon fired, you’ve got to. Expect it somewhere around noon.
Included this year we are having our first annual bar-b-que cookoff. Tell me how you like this name?🤪. “Hoochie-QUE”
We are known as a show with some of the best home built plaques and trophies. Go back and check out the previous shows.
While here be sure to go into the National Civil War Naval museum. They’ve reduced the price for bug people. You’re welcome to go in at any time to use the clean restrooms and cool off a little bit for FREE. My suggestion is to go ahead and pay the entry fee and come in as many times during the day and take in the Museum.
With that being said, we are going to try something new this year. Over the years I have NEVER charged the car owners an entry fee. I have absorbed the cost myself. In the beginning, I was able to do that, but since this show is grown so big and the cost has grown with it, I’m asking for a little bit of help from the Volkswagon community.
This year we are asking a $20 per car entry fee but with that you get something out of the deal.
We will set up a Venmo or cash app for registration in the next week.
The first 100 cars to register will receive the following;
• car entry to the show
• one FREE ticket inside the museum
• one FREE sponsor T-shirt
• goody bag
• one Christmas Wreath* for the Fort Mitchell cemetery.

Please help us by pre-registering so we know what size shirt to have and how much infrastructure we will need in place. Things like Porta Potties and Bouncy houses, etc..
