About this Event
Join us for an exciting, Animal Crossing-inspired "Bug-Off" bioblitz at Twin Lakes Park! Whether you're an avid fan of the game or just love nature, this event is perfect for all bug enthusiasts.
Just like in Animal Crossing, participants will explore the park to discover and document as many different species as possible within a set time frame. Armed with nets, hand lenses, and field guides, you'll work individually or in teams to catch, identify, and record a variety of bugs through the iNaturalist app. This event is catch and release only.
Our knowledgeable Extension staff will be on hand to assist with identification and provide fascinating facts about your finds.
At the end of the event, participants will be awarded with a certificate, and top contributors may even receive an additional prize!
Please wear wear close-toed shoes and weather-appropriate gear for the event. Sunscreen, bug spray, and a water bottle are also recommended.
Make sure to download the iNaturalist app and create an account in advance.
