Listen up, you glorious people! Exquisite auditory amazement can soon be your overriding experience, as you bask in the barely believable brilliance that is a.P.A.t.T.Cast off the frissons of the everyday; destroy the humdrum dirge with superlative sounds that reassemble the all-pervasive drone of cultural miasma into new and unexpected shapes. All of this, for you, LIVE in Sheffield, in March 2025!
But, well, who are a.P.A.t.T.? Liverpool based a.P.A.t.T. are an ensemble generally known for their avant-garde music and multimedia exploits.
Since their first release (e.P.) in 2002, they have released more than 7 albums, numerous singles, and endless music videos and short films. They have received commissions from a smörgåsbord of leading arts organisations, made a full feature film and even starred and composed for a BBC TV Sitcom. Because, of course.
a.P.A.t.T.’s latest album ‘We’ (2023) - their first since 2016’s acclaimed Fun With Music - resumes their sublime/ridiculous directive with aplomb.
It was album of the month and made ‘album of the year’ listings in The Quietus, who said:
“A postmodern take on the notion, however, might include some of the more maddening aspects of modern existence – advertisements and radio jingles, disembodied snippets of movie dialogue, audible incursions of other people’s music on public transport. This is not so much attention deficit music as attention intensive music which rewards time spent with it, particularly for listeners whose taste remains relatively fluid.”
“There really is no other way to say this: but a.P.A.t.T. drive me completely and utterly cuckoo, in a decidedly good way of course.” Louder Than War
