Miss J Kiss will be teaching a Budding Burlesque class at House of Hips. This 5-week series is a fabulous introduction to the ever growing and expanding art of Burlesque. Throughout the course Miss J will select several styles that you can play with and figure out what works for you.You are invited to dive in to all 5 classes, but you are more than welcome to drop in as well. Take for the fun of it, or for guidance into the Burlesque performance scene.
Beginner friendly for all folks. Wear comfy clothes. Flats or non-street sneakers are recommended.

• Week 1 - Fundamental Burlesque Moves: The pillars of the dance. From Beyoncé to Beethoven, you can bump, grind, & shimmy to just about anything.
• Week 2 - Classic: Burlesque of our foremothers. Timeless, classy, and subtly naughty.
• Week 3 - Silly: There is nothing sexier than watching someone having a good time. Making the audience laugh is a true art. Giving a whole new meaning to tongue in cheek humor.
• Week 4 - Slow/Seductive: Take your time! There is power in movement. The longer you tease your audience the more they will want you.
• Week 5 - Modern-Neo Burlesque: The updated version of the classic. Music, costumes, and approach are catered to a modern style.

June 8th thru July 6th
$15/class, or $50 for all 5 weeks (sorry, no refunds)

Miss J Kiss is the Godmother of Buffalo Burlesque. As one of the first to resurrect the Art of the Tease back in 2004, she then went on to be one of the founding mothers of Buffalo’s longest running Burlesque troupe, The Stripteasers.
