In collaboration with the City of Winona Department of Natural Resources & Sustainability and Front Porch Management, the Will Dilg Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America (IWLA) invites you to take action removing buckthorn. We'll provide hand saws, daubers, and instruction. We suggest wearing snow pants and warm work gloves. Meet at the John Latsch Shelter and be ready to connect with other folks!

Background:
This group has been working to remove buckthorn at Prairie Island since 2020 and has done so successfully over 12+ acres. As the City of Winona wraps up a Habitat Improvement Plan and applies for grants to bring in crews to improve 30+ acres, volunteers will continue to be called to work in the less dense areas as a match to the grant funding. Show your support as it works for you!
