Red Point Arts is proud to present the annual Bryan & Robyn Carr Art Prize & Exhibition to promote excellence and encourage artists and artisans throughout the Illawarra region. The theme of this year’s exhibition is ‘Thoughts from Private Corners” and it will run from 8 to 20 November at Red Point Arts Gallery in Port Kembla.
Participating artists will share in more than $2,000 in prizes, which have been donated by Red Point Arts and Katinka Dineen, the daughter of the late previous owner of the Red Point Arts precinct.
Ms Dineen says “My late father, Bryan Carr was a generous supporter of Red Point Arts, because he loved the sense of place and community it gave Port Kembla. He could often be found sitting and reflecting on his favourite bench in a corner of the Red Point Arts courtyard in the sunshine. This year’s exhibition theme ‘Thoughts from Private Corners’ is therefore especially appropriate.
Kembla Court (now known as ‘The Wentworth’) was a labour of love for my father. It was more than a commercial building to him and his late wife, Robyn Carr (nee Slater). It was their home.”
The general public are welcome at all Bryan & Robyn Art Carr Prize and Exhibition events.
