Lecture to follow
For those who have been to a Brunos Banquet at San Marcos Lodge 342 in the past can attest to the caliber of the evning afoot. High caliber, not in respect to exclusivity, but in respect to quality and depth of conversation. We encourage ALL masons in good standing who are curious to explore the mysteries of our reality, excited to share their thoughts and learn from others, to attend this event.
- A delicious meal will be prepared by brother John Tolbert.
- During the meal a short presentation on the history and significance of Giordano Bruno will given.
- A silent auction with various curiosities will be active throughout the evening. Come prepared to bid, if interested.
- Following the meal we will gather and listen to a lecture given by David Hill (bio below). The lecture topic is: The Angel and the Abyss: Two measures of enlightenment in the Western Tradition.
- After the lecture, brethren will assemble for conversation, discussion and fellowship.
Dr. David Hill is a psychologist in private practice. He is a past master of Parsons Lodge #222 in Austin and a past DDGM of District 52. Brother Hill currently serves as Prelate, Almoner, and Wise Master for the Austin Valley of the Scottish Rite, and he is a past Most Excellent High Priest and Thrice Illustrious Master of Lone Star Chapter #6 and Austin Council #2, respectively. In addition to his Masonic activities, Brother Hill has been exploring esotericism for the last 30 years. He has traveled the world lecturing on esoteric subjects and is scheduled to lecture in North Macedonia this Fall. His current lecture, The Angel and the Abyss: Two measures of enlightenment in the Western Tradition, debuted at Esotericon earlier this year. This is not a strictly Masonic talk, but it will be of interest to masons who seek to deepen their relationship with Divinity through Theurgical operations and mystical exploration.
