Brother James is the spiritual singer-songwriter moniker of LA-based producer & songwriter Justin James Sinclair, who’s equally influenced by classic songwriters like McCartney and Randy Newman as he is by authors like Plato and Leo Tolstoy.
Deeply inspired by monasticism, Brother James’ songs engage with mysticism, deep self-searching, and the daily, necessary struggle we all face to remain present, fully alive, and grateful. His stories document and explore the messy human process of pursuing truth and attempting to love people well.
Samantha Margret writes music for the girl who wants to own her history, her body, and her feelings. Samantha’s alt-pop songs feature layered vocals and bass driven beats. Her poetic lyrics are well suited to reflection on a late night drive, and her dark production displays a flare for the dramatic.
Jason Sibi-Okumu is a soulful singer songwriter, born and raised in Kenya, whose timeless melodies and expressive lyrics captivate his audience. Diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Failure at the age of fifteen, Jason turned to songwriting as a way to process the experience. It was also around that time that he discovered the music of John Mayer who quickly became his primary songwriting influence (Jason’s early influences included Eric Wainaina, Michael Jackson, Queen, Sam Cooke, The Beatles and Bob Dylan). After two years of dialysis, Jason had a successful kidney transplant in 2007. Sibi-Okumu credits the experience for adding depth, purpose and identity to his songwriting. Sibi-Okumu was awarded the Pat Pattison Award in 2014 in recognition of outstanding musicianship as a student at Berklee's Songwriting Department. His debut album “It’s Only Rain” is set to drop in the summer of 2024.
