This fall, Arlene’s Artist Materials and the R Gallery at Arlene’s are thrilled to unveil a one-of-a-kind collaboration between our 2023–24 Artists in Residence—Maria DeAngelo, Ottavia Huang, Tracy Loring, and Aly Parrott—and the locally rooted, sustainably sourced clothing brand Brosgé, led by artist Jennifer Wilkerson. The collection will debut in the R Gallery at Arlene’s from Friday, October 3 through Friday, October 31, 2025, with an Artist Reception on Friday, October 3 from 4:30 to 5:30 PM.The result? A stunning limited edition of 10 bespoke aprons, each a fusion of fine art and ethically made fashion. Crafted from vintage and sustainably sourced linens, hand dyed by Wilkerson, the aprons are hand-painted, printed, and embellished by the resident artists. Every piece reflects a deep, intentional collaboration—where textile meets brushstroke, and sustainability meets storytelling.
But this exhibition goes beyond the aprons themselves. Visitors will experience imagery from throughout the collaboration, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process, and a short documentary that captures the spirit, challenges, and triumphs of this interdisciplinary journey. This show is a celebration of craft, community, and conscious creation—a reminder that art can be worn, shared, and made with care.
