Bassist Vilhelm Bromander kicks off the festivities with his Unfolding Orchestra, an all-star combo representing Stockholm’s vibrant scene. In an opening speech, George Lewis will provide an invaluable perspective of the festival’s place in the history of music. His talk is followed by a rare solo performance by pianist Marilyn Crispell, a musician of unparalleled depth.
