About this Event

Lunatraktors are choreographer and percussionist Carli Jefferson and nonbinary vocalist and composer Clair Le Couteur. Influenced by flamenco, post-punk and trip hop, their’ ‘broken folk’ sound strips trad folk back to rhythm and voice.

The pair turned heads in 2019 when their DIY debut This Is Broken Folk made it onto MOJO Magazine’s Top Ten Folk Albums. New release The Missing Star made it to #2 in MOJO's 2021 Top Ten.

The album is a “report on the sad state of the British Isles, under the oppressive rule of thieves and liars these many ages, and lately under the sway of contemptuous fools left wing, right wing, both best forgotten; the entire golden goose is rotten”.

Part of PLANET THANET, a month-long summer arts series in Merchant City, Glasgow running from 29 July to 25 August.
