You are warmly invited to my French vintage art exhibition 'Brocante'a nostalgic and whimsical collection of oil and mixed media paintings that explore themes of heritage through vintage silverware, and contemplate the emotions and stories that often surround these objects
The French term 'Brocante' refers to a range of used domestic items from high end antiques to second hand finds, as well as the fabulous shops and markets that sell them.
Subtly layered with old maps and sheet music, texture and pattern, these paintings offer a treasure hunt of references to our French travels, Australian life and South African roots, and the sense of belonging that connects them all
