The Sea Kayak Award endorses your skill, judgement and the decision making required for a successful day on the sea. You will be confident in planning and undertaking journeys on the sea, in winds up to and including force 3 and/or tides up to 1 Knot, using sea kayaks in tidal or non-tidal environments, with proficient skills to be in control throughout. We run this course in accordance with the British Canoeing syllabus, so please take a look at the BC Sea Kayak Award syllabus, training, and assessment notes which can be found here:

During this award you will develop your skill, judgement and decision making to enable you to plan a successful trip on the sea. You will look at the key decisions needed to ensure you are in the right place at the right time. Key paddling and rescue skills will be developed. You will also learn how to choose the right paddling and safety equipment for your trip.
The Sea Kayak Award has no formal assessment. Each day you spend kayaking will further expand your skills and knowledge. We will tailor the course around your needs and it will be certificated when you are ready.
We work in small groups, which allows for more individual coaching and feedback . All our courses are tailored to each participants level and needs.
This course will be held in English and Norwegian.
