About this Event
It takes place on Thursday 6th October in the Lansdown Room at Ashton Gate Stadium on behalf of For Ethiopia, a small Bristol-based charity that does amazing work for women and girls in Ethiopia.
The evening starts at 6pm with a welcome drink, before the 20-piece swing band and professional dancers provide the entertainment while you enjoy a lovely three course meal. We want to create a ‘Ronnie Scott’s ‘ in Bristol. Once dinner is done, the fun begins and there is a silent auction with fantastic prizes on offer (details to follow nearer the time). Once you have bagged yourself some goodies, join us on the dance floor and show us your best moves. The professional dancers will also be on hand to provide tips if you need them!

This amazing evening is all in aid of Bristol-based charity, For-Ethiopia, that supports a group of girls in a particular district in Ethiopia through their education. We do this by helping provide secure accommodation, sanitation, and water. Many of these young girls do not complete their education because they live in an area many hours walk away from the one high school. Families worry about the dangers their girls face and try to protect them by keeping them home.
For-Ethiopia has already built one specialist hostel, Toby’s House, where these girls can live and study in safety and with the support of a house mother. To date, Toby’s House enables 32 girls annually to achieve their potential. The local community have given us the land to build another hostel and this night is about raising money to build that - and in order to build and equip a second hostel we need to make a major fundraising effort. We know that Bristol can come together and build!
