Bristol City of Sanctuary invites you to join us as we launch our new three year Strategy. Through presentations, panel events and discussion groups you will:
- Hear from people who have fled war, violence and persecution to make Bristol their home and who are now contributing in so many ways to our community
- Be inspired by the organisations and people across Bristol who are championing sanctuary. Our universities offering Sanctuary Scholarships, schools holding community events, faith groups offering safe spaces, arts and sports groups including people seeking sanctuary in their activities, businesses hiring refugees - and more.
- Learn about the challenges that remain, the injustices and hardships that people are facing
- Connect with like-minded people to explore what you can do to join our growing movement of welcome and help make Bristol a better place to live and work - for everyone.
About Bristol City of Sanctuary
We work with local organisations and individuals to build a culture of welcome, inclusion and solidarity for people seeking sanctuary in the Bristol region. We do this by:
- mobilising local government, businesses, faith communities, arts groups, schools, colleges and universities to pledge their support - and to act on these pledges by embedding practices of welcome and inclusivity which are recognised and celebrated by our Sanctuary Awards
- connecting with the wider Bristol community, engaging people with our mission through volunteering, donating or campaigning
- challenging local and national policy and practice, advocating for a compassionate and forward-looking approach which values the contributions people seeking sanctuary make.
