|| BRISBANE CITY HALL SOLO RECITAL ||Artemii Safonov and Amalia Safonova are pleased to announce their upcoming solo concert at the Brisbane City Hall on the 14th of October.
The program will feature many solo piano pieces by composers such as Mozart, Chopin, Rachmaninov and Alkan, as well as a range of beautiful vocal and flute works accompanied with piano.
This concert will be on from 12 to 1 pm, and will be free to watch, as part of the Lord Mayor’s City Hall Lunchtime Concert series.

About the musicians:
Artemii Safonov is a Brisbane-based pianist and composer with extensive performance experience as a soloist and collaborative musician across Australia.
His performance highlights include a solo piano recital at the Brisbane City Hall in 2024, his work as the celeste player for the Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s “Spirit of the Wild” concerts at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, and as an accompanist for productions by Opera Australia and Opera Queensland.
Artemii has been awarded numerous prizes, including the John Nesbitt Endowment and the Raoul P. Neil and Airdree P. Neil Foundation Scholarship during his studies at the Queensland Conservatorium, as well as multiple awards in national and international piano competitions.
Artemii’s compositions for a range of ensembles have been praised for their expression and musical colour by audiences across Australia, and are a highlight of his concerts. As a collaborative pianist, Artemii often accompanies examinations and eisteddfods, recently serving as an official accompanist for the 2025 Queensland Vocal Festival Competition.
Artemii is a committee member of the Accompanists’ Guild of Queensland.

Amalia Safonova is an emerging Australian soprano and flautist known for her technical finesse and expressive performances in major concert venues across Australia.
Amalia’s notable performances include her appearance in Opera Australia’s production of “Turandot” at the Melbourne Arts Centre, her performance in Opera Queensland’s “Barber of Seville”, and appearances at several other high-profile concerts at the Brisbane City Hall and Brisbane Parliament House.
Studying voice with internationally acclaimed opera singer Helena Dix, Amalia was admitted to the Queensland Conservatorium at the age of 15, where she began a mentorship with the head of the voice department, Margaret Schindler, and former Eighth Blackbird member Timothy Munro.
Amalia has earned numerous awards for her skills as both a vocalist and flautist, including prizes from the Australian Concerto and Vocal Competition, the International Elena Obraztsova Vocal Competition, and a multitude of eisteddfods across the country.
