Come and join the 4th Brinscall lantern parade!Limited spaces are available on this Withnell Parish council funded event so please also only book if you are a resident of Brinscall and the surrounding villages (Withnell, Wheelton). Thank you! 🙂
The parade is free to attend but if you would like to come to Wildwood Days site for a brew, slice of cake and the chance to toast a marshmallow you will need to buy a £2pp refreshment ticket. This can be returned on request but we would be very grateful for any donations. Thank you 🙂
There are two lantern-making workshops available on Saturday 4th January (book via the website) or you can make your own at home (or bring one you’ve made previously!). DIY kits will be available from just outside Brinscall St John’s school on the 6th, 7th and 8th January at school pick up time (between 3:10 and 3:30). Please only collect a kit if you are intending to come to the parade on the 11th.
The event will involve walking down through Brinscall (carrying our lanterns) from the Cricket club car park to the swimming baths and then along Lodge bank to the Wildwood days site, where refreshments will be provided (hot drinks, cake and toasted marshmallows on the campfire) for the people that have bought tickets.
We are meeting at the cricket club at 4:45pm and will set off walking down through the village at 5pm. We will walk down to the swimming baths and then turn right along Lodge Bank. You do not have to walk the whole length of the route.
Please note – if the weather is horrendous (torrential rain and wind) we will postpone the event to the following weekend.
