A communal potluck dinner to celebrate Terra Madre Day. Attendees are invited to bring-and-share a dish that is made using a family recipe, has regional or cultural significance, includes locally sourced ingredients, etc. "Terra Madre Day is Slow Food’s global day of celebration and action for food that is good, clean, and fair for all.
Born from the belief that food is deeply tied to culture, health, and the environment, Terra Madre Day is a moment to honor the people and communities behind our food with garden and farm visits, communal meals, educational activities, and cultural celebrations."
During the last hour of this event, Slow Food Springfield board members will have presentations about native seeds and seed sovereignty, Terra Madre Americas, and a visit with Slow Food Costa Rica.
