About this Event
Hey! Myself and four mates are running the Brighton Marathon on the 7th of April in aid of two charities, the New Zealand Heart Foundation and the Yasmin Caldera Memorial Fund. We lost Cian, a school friend of ours and a Kiwi native, to undiagnosed heart condition late in 2022. Likewise with Yasmin, a bright young girl with her whole future ahead of her. Unfortunately, 12 young people die every week due to undiagnosed heart conditions and both the Yasmin Caldera Fund and NZ Heart foundation are doing invaluable work to try to rectify this. The charities work towards providing heart screening programmes, research and pathology to combat cardiac risk in youth both in Portsmouth and New Zealand.
SO, to continue this work in such an important sector, we’ve decided to organise a gig with the party man DJ Warren Aylward and the evergreen Island City Band to dance the night away. It will be in the Victory lounge at Fratton Park. Tickets are £12.50, there will be a raffle with plenty of prizes to be won! Otherwise look forward to all seeing you there and raising some money for two fantastic causes!
