The first night of the 2024 Brighton Jazz Festival brings you two of the UK's most exciting young saxophonists with their outstanding bands.Rachael Cohen has been a mainstay at Ronnie Scott's since her debut album earned her a spot in MOJO magazine's top ten jazz albums, and She is accompanied by the trio of US based Japanese pianist Miki Yamanaka for a special one-off musical meeting London and New York City jazz!
Since performing in the final of the first ever BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year (2014) at the age of 13, Sean Payne has worked regularly as a freelance musician around the UK and Europe. He's bringing an all-star band of Tom Cawley (piano) Orlando le Fleming (bass) and Darren Beckett (drums).
Expect an evening of stunningly virtuosic modern jazz from these international quality rising stars.
