Bright Umbrella Community Rehearsed Reading Circle, is proud to present 'Boyd’s Shop', by St John Greer Ervine. 'Boyd’s Shop' is a romance about the conflict that occurs when a new grocer comes to a small Irish town and falls in love with the daughter of his main rival. The play was said to have defined Northern Irish drama for decades. Ervine was born in East Belfast, in the shadow of the shipyards. He was an Irish biographer, novelist, critic, dramatist, and theatre manager and the most prominent Ulster writer of the early twentieth century whose work influenced the plays of W. B. Yeats and Sean O'Casey.A community / amateur theatre event.
