About this Event
This workshop will enable attendees to deliver 8-session CAT to the service users they see. This intervention has been shown to be effective with complex clients (e.g. those who self-harm regularly), and is intended to work with the most destructive of their TPPs with a view to reducing distress and facilitating better engagement and therapy response. The day will rely on attendees knowing the CAT basics and will not teach any CAT theory. The day will:
- introduce attendees to the 8-session protocol and how to implement this.
- use qualitative and quantitative evidence to inform the teaching
- be a space to think about how therapists’ TPPs get in the way of enabling the ‘loose-tight’ focus that brief-CAT requires.
This is a CPD day hosted by CAT Cymru which provides CAT practitioner training and CAT CPD in Wales. You can find out more about us by visiting www.catcymru.uk CAT Cymru is the trading name of South Wales CAT Training Limited.
