About this Event

Welcome to our exciting event, Bridging the Gap Between Technical and People Skills in Construction!

Join us on Thu Oct 24 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Austin Safety Council amazing facilities for a Lunch & Learn filled with insightful discussions, learning, and networking opportunities.

In the construction industry, frontline supervisors, superintendents, and project managers are not just responsible for overseeing technical tasks; they are also pivotal leaders who directly influence team safety, engagement, and productivity.

However, many struggle with bridging the gap between their technical expertise and the people skills necessary to inspire and lead effectively.

This 2-hour Lunch & Learn is designed to help construction company owners and leaders identify and start taking steps to close that gap with their project managers, enabling them to lead their crews more effectively, safely, and drive better project outcomes.

If you are noticing that technical skills are not translating into team leading success, your teams are struggling, people are dropping the ball, deadlines are missed, and engagement is low, join us to find out how you can develop the leadership skills that will translate into effective teams.

Audience: GC Owners, CEOs, Project Engineers, Project Managers and anyone in a supervisory role - from the new supervisor and foreman to the experienced superintendent.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the difference between technical and people management skills
  2. Explore the challenges created by this gap
  3. Define leadership in construction
  4. Differentiate between good and bad leaders
  5. Assess your current leadership skills
  6. Learn the 5 key supervisory skills every construction leader needs
