About this Event
Welcome to Bridging Gaps: Advancing Harm Reduction in Nursing Practice, a conference hosted by the SHC Medical Portfolio CNE team. Harm reduction encompasses policies, initiatives and practices that strive to reduce adverse health, social or economic consequences of the use of legal and illegal psychoactive substances without requiring an individual to reduce or stop consumption. Please join us in a day of learning about evidence-based harm reduction principles, opioid agonist therapy, community-based naloxone, the ethics of harm reduction, trauma-informed care and more. In addition to our line-up of incredible speakers covering the topics listed below, you will have the opportunity to engage in conversation with field experts throughout the day. These experts include individuals with lived experience as well as representatives from Safeworks, ARCH, Elbow River Healing Lodge, Alpha House, and more! We are excited for you to join us for a great day of collaborative learning and engaging discussion.
