Bridges Out of Poverty Training

Many individuals in our communities face obstacles to good health. This free in-person training will seek to help healthcare professionals better understand their patients’ challenges and equip you with strategies and resources to remove obstacles to healthier living.
Based on a holistic model, Bridges offers an approach that considers all facets of an individual’s life. This training aims to help you understand the challenges of poverty and equip you with resources to cultivate patient success.
Key tenets of the Bridges Out of Poverty work include:
Recognizing the four causes of generational poverty
- Understanding the hidden rules that create barriers for those
- in poverty to successfully emerge
- Identifying critical resource gaps that need to be addressed for individuals to improve life outcomes
Trainer Prudence Pease of Tunbridge, Vermont, is a certified Bridges Out of Poverty facilitator and has trained more than 5,000 individuals in Bridges work, including human service providers, HR professionals, and employers. Her personal story of growth and change as she traveled the road from welfare mom to judicial officer is extremely compelling and demonstrates beautifully the messages of Bridges Out of Poverty. Prudence is a graduate of the Vermont Leadership Institute and is a highly sought-after speaker and currently contracts with United Way of Chittenden County and aha! Process.
