About this Event

The evening will feature live painting from visual artist TBA.

Bridge (noun): a time, place, or means of connection or transition.
"What began with Alex Chao's interest in chamber music rapidly coalesced into a full-fledged production of Andy Akiho's Seven Pillars. A Northwestern University alum, Chao gathered fellow Chicago-based alumni to form this ensemble. Showcasing members of the percussion studio from different graduation years and diverse backgrounds, this group acts as a bridge between past and future cohorts of Northwestern percussionists."
Bridge (verb): make a difference between two groups smaller or less significant.
"The production of Seven Pillars is equal parts challenging and rewarding. This trailblazing suite for chamber percussion requires command over the individual's part and subsequent surrender to composite grooves. Through rigorous rehearsal, the ensemble has developed unique coordination skills, mastered complex rhythms, and discovered compelling sounds in the process. Whether currently immersed in the art of percussion or now appreciating it from the periphery, each ensemble member is determined to bridge the gap between casual commitment and professional musicianship."
