A few years back in the middle of a hot Hudson Valley summer, Millbrook Sound Studio’s owner / operator Paul Orofino had his A room available and invited four friends he previously worked with (Frank Carillo, Simon Kirke, Danny Miranda & Eddie Seville) to hang out and make some music.
Although some of them had never met, Paul thought they would be a perfect fit, not only musically but personally and so, they gathered upstate NY and lived in the studio’s band house for a week of writing and recording.
They came away with an EP called “Cobblestone” and Paul’s insight into a great band with great chemistry became Brickyard Saints.
About the band:
Simon Kirke is an iconic multi-instrumentalist and songwriter best known for his powerful backbeat drumming with the bands Free and Bad Company. He co-wrote the song “Bad Company” as well as most of the songs on his three solo albums and the Brickyard Saints EP.
Frank Carillo is a world class guitar player and songwriter whose affable persona has allowed him to make an indelible mark on the international music scene. Personally signed to Atlantic Records by the legendary Ahmet Ertegun, Frank has been working with a who’s who of A-list artists throughout his colorful career.
Danny Miranda is a bass guitar virtuoso and songwriter whose talents grabbed the attention of guitarist Brian May and led to him becoming the bassist for the Paul Rogers and Queen tour. Danny co-wrote the Brickyard Saints EP and his songwriting is featured on the Blue Oyster Cult album, “Curse of the Hidden Mirror,” among others.
Eddie Seville is an American songwriter who’s written songs released on Island / Atlantic and Universal Records, as well as music aired on the top three US television networks and HBO. His ability to cross musical genres with raw honesty and lyrical depth has made him a respected figure among contemporary writers and performers.
