About this Event
Workshop Description
Out-of-school time (OST) program staff are invited to join folks from CMU's Center for Transformational Play and Entertainment Technology Center for this series to learn about and experience Brick Club.
"The Brick-by-Brick® programme offers children positive, meaningful social experiences in an understanding, playful and accepting environment. Brick Club (as it's known to children) supports its members to collaborate, communicate, problem-solve and share fun experiences all through collaborative LEGO® play."
The activities have been developed to nurture social and emotional wellbeing across various levels and programs.
In this series, you'll:
- Play through activities in which you can remix the boxes/bins/totes of LEGO you have at your program into play which encourages youth to build social and emotional wellbeing!
- Engage in several forms of construction play
- Learn about the Brick-by-Brick® program (also called Brick Club)
- and learn where to access free activities from CMU's friends and partners at Play Included as well as other resources from the LEGO Foundation.
Attendees are encouraged to register for and attend each session, if their schedule allows, so they can experience the benefits of Brick Club!
