April 16th 2024 was the day that changed our lives forever. I was hospitalized after fainting at school. A few hours into my admission, I went into cardiac arrest & flat lined right before my mom’s eyes! The emergency response team performed CPR for 3 hrs as my heart would start and stop. It was suggested to put me on an ECMO machine, only giving me a 10% chance of living. God has totally blessed me to be here today! Even though I endured the tragedy of losing my life & the loss of my leg from being on ECMO, my family and I realize we have been blessed! It has been discovered that I’ll need open heart surgery because I was born with a heart anomaly that has gone undetected until now, in spite of my active lifestyle of dance and running track.
