Brian Blake is a Memphis-area songwriter who has been active in the local music scene for more than 25 years. Brian was named the Songwriter of the Year in 2021 by the Memphis Songwriter's Association for his song “Move on J.D.” The song will be featured on his first full-length album, Book of Life, which is being released this fall. Full of memorable stories and characters, Book of Life delves into Blake’s southeast Texas roots, where his family goes back more than 175 years. The album was produced by Walt Wilkins and Ron Flynt and was recorded in Austin, Texas, with some of Austin’s finest touring and studio musicians such as Rich Brotherton (Robert Earl Keen), Warren Hood (Hayes Carll), and Betty Soo joining in the mix.
Brian has assembled an all-star backing band for the Book of Life release show, which is the launch of a regional tour in support of the album.
