Brenn Alt presenterer - This is: Prog!
Som et nytt tilskudd til kultursfæren i Oslo, med en ny produksjon hver 4de måned, vil vi arrangere en mini-festival, med noen av de beste banda vi veit i en gitt sjanger. Denne gangen falt valget på Progressiv Rock med fundament i 60 & 70 - tallet, og da syntes vi valget var tatt for oss:

GONG
Legendariske Gong er tilbake i Oslo! Og de er klare for en intim setting langs våryre Akerselva. Stedet er Ingensteds, og for anledninga er Bortenfor og Terrassen åpen, og med seg har de Kosmodome fra Bergen, og Oslo Øst' egne Actionfredag.
Gong, hvis karriere spenner seg fra 1967 med inkarnasjonen 'Protogong' (i henhold til starter, Daevid Allen) har sett 11 forskjellige bandinkarnasjoner, 33 forskjellige medlemmer - blant andre Allan Holdsworth (Soft Machine, U.K., Bruford, Allan Holdsworth, mfl.) , Steve Hillage (Khan, System 7, mfl.), Francis Moze (Magma), Bill Bruford (Yes, King Crimson, mfl.) - innehar i dag en konstellasjon som Allen selv sa før sin bortgang at var hans valg for å fortsette Gong' vekst, og reise.
Med deres nye album 'Bright Spirit' fortsetter bandet en utvikling av bandets samling av utgivelser, nå med mer enn 30 studioalbum. "It's such an eclectic record," sier vokalist og gitarist Kavus Torabi. "There are Eastern-infused epics, long instrumental jazz-inspired sections, meditative and cosmic detours and blistering, incendiary psychedelic rock." Første singel fra skiva er 'Stars In Heaven' ble lagt ut på strømmetjenester i November.

KOSMODOME
Kosmodome er et reelt hjertebarn, satt i live av to brødre fra vestkysten av landet, Sturle og Severin Sandvik, med Ole-Andreas Jensen og Erlend Nord på bass og gitar. De spiller riffa og smart, men progressiv 'Distriktsrock' - som de benevner den. "Musikken har eit eksplosivt driv der det melodiøse strir mot det tunge og harde."

ACTIONFREDAG
Actionfredag spiller en livsbejaende frikerock inspirert av britiske mursteinsbygg, gammel norsk barne-TV og 37-bussen. Musikken gjør utstrakt bruk av dur og dyrker et barnlig og uskyldsrent uttrykk, samtidig som låtene har en kompleksitet og motvillighet som lener seg mot svensk 70-tallsprog og den britiske Canterbury-scenen.

Det blir anledning for 330 mennesker å være i rommet under konsertene, og ca 200 til kan benytte seg av resterende plass innenfor Ingensted' lokaler - som rommer: Ingensteds (330 pers), Bortenfor (130 pers) og om været tillater det - Terrassen (ca 100 pers). Dette inngir soner å vandre rundt i - og i å befinne deg bortkommen i.
Bortenfor vil være en 'hover space' - et stillere rom med egen DJ og kanskje noen forfriskninger (om de ikke er borte innen du finner fram dit) - der du kan risikere å finne kjente og kjære, kanskje noen fra et band du liker, eller enkelt og greit en god cocktail i baren!
Terrassen blir den naturlige hvileplassen der du kan trekke deg tilbake, og finne nye krefter om det trengs, eller hvor elvas sus innbyr til å la tankene vandre.

A new addition to the cultural atmosphere in Oslo, with one new evening every 4th month, we will arrange a mini-festival, with some of the best bands we know in a given genre. This time the choice fell on Progressive Rock with a foundation in the 60s & 70s, and then we thought the choice was made for us:
GONG
Legendary Gong are back in Oslo! And they are ready for an intimate setting along the springing Akerselva. The venue is Ingensteds, and for the occasion Bortenfor and Terrassen (the Terrace) are open, and along with Gong we get Kosmodome from Bergen, and Oslo East's own Actionfredag.
Gong, whose career spans from 1967 with the incarnation 'Protogong' (according to the starter, Daevid Allen) has seen 11 different band incarnations, 33 different members - including Allan Holdsworth (Soft Machine, U.K., Bruford, Allan Holdsworth, etc.), Steve Hillage (Khan, System 7, etc.), Francis Moze (Magma), Bill Bruford (Yes, King Crimson, etc.) - today holds a constellation that Allen himself said before his passing was his choice to continue Gong's growth, and journey.
With their new album 'Bright Spirit', the band continues to grow their collection of releases, now numbering more than 30 studio albums. KOSMODOME
Kosmodome is a real child of love, brought to life by two brothers from the west coast of the country, Sturle and Severin Sandvik, with Ole-Andreas Jensen and Erlend Nord on bass and guitar. They play riffy and smart, but progressive 'District Rock' - as they call it. "The music has an explosive drive where the melodious fights against the heavy and hard."

ACTIONFREDAG
Actionfredag plays life-affirming freak rock inspired by British brick buildings, old Norwegian children's TV and the 37 bus. The music makes extensive use of 'major' and cultivates a childish and innocent expression, while the songs have a complexity and reluctance that leans towards Swedish 70s language and the British Canterbury scene.

There will be an opportunity for 330 people to be in the room during the concerts, and about 200 more can use the remaining space within Ingensted's premises - which accommodates: Ingensteds (330 people), Bortenfor (130 people) and if the weather permits - Terrassen (about 100 people). This makes for zones to wonder in, and in to find yourself lost.
Bortenfor will be a 'hover space' - a quieter room with its own DJ and perhaps some plates of snacks and refreshments (if they're not gone by the time you get there) - where you can risk finding friends and loved ones, maybe someone from a band you like, or simply a good cocktail at the bar!
The terrace becomes the natural resting place where you can retreat and find new strength if needed, or where the rush of the river invites you to let your thoughts wander.
