This incredible songstress and accomplished songwriter captivate audiences with a soulful delivery uniquely her own. Eager, pronounced (ager), found her voice at the tender age of three when she began singing in church in her hometown of Lower Peachtree, Alabama. Since beginning her career, Brenda Lee is one of the few who has always made a living doing what she loves... and doing it well. Brenda, who has worked with great artists such as Diana Ross, Roberta Flack, Smokey Robinson, Teena Marie, Donny Hathaway, Graham Nash, Ray Charles, Mavis Staples, Stevie Wonder, among many others, takes us back to a time when soul-filled singing, whether silky-smooth or raw and passionate, was the order of the day. As a songwriter Brenda has written songs for Bobby Womack, Mavis Staples and the Staples Singers, Pop Staples, Cliff Richard, The Manhattans, Peaches and Herb, and The Late Great Ray Charles. Shirley Brown of Woman to Woman fame has recorded three of Brendas tunes and also Gwen McCrae recorded Girlfriends Boyfriend. The Late Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin and many others often request material from Brenda Lee Eager. and so many others continue to request her material. Upon reading song lyrics that Brenda sent to Mavis Staples, The Late Artist Prince requested the lyrics, As a result, Brenda Lee Eager co-wrote 2 songs with Prince, one of which went Double Platinum. Brenda was a member of Operation Push and became one of four soloists known as The Piperettes of Freedom, along with a 21 piece Orchestra lead by Ben Branch. The group taken out 126 voice choir was formed by Rev Jesse Jackson. The Piperettes and the band accompanied Rev Jackson and the movement, as he traveled the country to get Black officials elected for the first time. Brendas first taste of Musical Theater was with Della Reese, who cast Brenda as one of the lead roles in her musical The Message is in the Music. Brenda performed throughout Europe where she co-starred with the Late legendary Blues Singer Linda Hopkins and Maxine Weldon in the hit musical Wild Woman Blues. In addition, Brenda Lee has taught songwriting for the Quincy Jones Workshop at the prestigious Inner City Cultural Center in Los Angeles, and today is a consultant and vocal coach to many inspiring artists and songwriters. One of her greatest undertakings and greatest accomplishments to date, is a full length musical based on her life, called From Behind the Starting Line. Through her songs, tears and laughter, the audience will be taking on an adventure through the many lives of Brenda Lee Eager. This phenomenally touching story reaches down deep to the part that all of us can relate to. Brenda Lee Eager continues to entertain audiences everywhere with her Brenda Lee Eagers Classic Soul Revue.
