Breathwork guides us to the River Beneath the River. The place where we can sit and
connect to the deepest parts of ourselves. Where we honor and allow what must live to
live and let die what must die. Breathwork is the instrument that carries and the path
that leads to the sacred space of communion with self. During this 4-week Breathwork
series you will be invited to surrender to the power and guidance of your breath. You will
do this by becoming aware of your breath through the process of conscious breathing.
Conscious breathing allows you to become aware of how and where your breath is
guiding you. Breathwork reminds you that the medicine you need to deeply witness
yourself, lies within every breath!
During this series, you will connect with your breath by journeying through a three-part
conscious breathing pattern. This three-part breath will allow you to intentionally
manipulate your breath to bring your body into a balanced state (by regulating your
nervous system), connect deeply to your subtle bodies (physical, mental, emotional,
and spiritual), move stagnant energy, release toxins, and much more.
What each session will look like:
During the first session, before starting active Breathwork, we will begin with an
activity where you will develop your intention and anchor to carry with you for the
duration of the series.
Each session will begin with gentle movement to prepare the body for the breath.
During active Breathwork, sound healing instruments such as the drum, shakers,
and tuning forks will be used to create a space for your body to drop deeper into
the practice. Gentle energy healing (Sekhem-Seichim-Reiki) will be used to
support your body throughout the process.
After the active Breathwork, you will be softly led into a guided visualization
practice to deepen your connection to your experience.
Afterwards, there will be time for you to sit with your experience, this may look
like bringing movement back into your body, journaling, writing in your packet,
sharing about your experience, resting…
For this series you will receive a packet with journaling prompts, exercises, and other
information. You are also encouraged to bring a journal, something to write with, a
scared object (e.g., memorabilia, photo, medicine or mojo bag…) to help support you
during your practice, and a water bottle for hydration!
Breathwork is the tool that allows you to see and experience your life on a deeply
sacred level. If this is something you would like to explore, this breathwork series is for
you. Whether you are new or experienced you are welcome in this space! Remember,
during the practice your breath will always guide you where you need to be. All you
have to do is lay down, allow your body to drift, and breathe!
How to support yourself during the experience:
It is highly recommended that you do not eat a heavy meal 1- 2 hours prior to the experience
(having a full belly may constrict how deeply you are able to breathe)
o Drinking water before is fine, however, please be mindful that you will be laying
down for about 45 mins. It is encouraged to bring a water bottle as your mouth may
become dry during the experience and it is good to hydrate after.
It is highly recommended that you bring a yoga mat, pillow/bolster (for head and leg
support) and a blanket
It is best to wear warm comfortable loose clothing so that your belly and chest can expand
while breathing. Your body temperature may vary from hot to extremely cold, so it is best to
wear removable layers (in case you become hot) and to bring a blanket (in case you become
cold).
