About this Event
Come and join us for an al fresco summer evening of fun and safe socialising!
Summer is on its way, so grab your picnic blankets and join us in a southeast London park for another COVID-safe social!
We will have areas set up with board games, arts and crafts, and conversation prompts to help us all connect :). Please feel free to bring your picnic blankets, camping chairs, cushions, and anything else you need to be comfortable!
FFP2/3 masks and proof of a negative test are required on arrival (and provided). This event will last for 3 hours.
We are specifically welcoming:
- Disabled people (4x higher COVID mortality rate)
- People of colour (32% long COVID rate)
- Women (36% long COVID rate)
- Trans people (48% long COVID rate)
- Neurodivergent people (30% long COVID rate)
- People with HIV (58% long COVID rate)
or anyone else at increased risk (or those who don't want to spread such a disease to the greater London community).
Governments and the public have decided to abandon infection control and endanger those around them, putting already-marginalised communities at risk of Long COVID, social isolation, and death.
We want to create spaces for people to socialise, find community, and have fun without putting themselves or others at risk of damage to their immune, cardiovascular, or nervous systems.

Covid safety at the event
Attendees will be greeted and asked to provide photo proof of a negative COVID test in the last 24 hours.
If attendees don't have the opportunity to take one beforehand, they will be provided and asked to take them away from the group.
After confirming negative tests, attendees will be provided an FFP2/3 mask (if they do not have their own) and invited to socialise with other attendees at various activity areas(board games, arts and crafts, conversation prompts, etc.).
For everyone's safety, please do not attend the event if you are unwell or have any unusual symptoms, especially signs or symptoms of respiratory illness such as a sore throat, runny nose, fever, etc. We can provide a refund on your donation at any time in the lead up to the event if you contact [email protected].
Attendees are welcome to ask organisers for an introduction to any group to break the ice.
After 20-30 minutes, we will invite guests to switch to a different activity or take a break if they wish, though this will not be required.
Standing will not be required for any portion of this event.
If you have any additional access needs (e.g. BSL interpreter, lip reading masks, etc.) or questions about the event, please email [email protected].
General safety at the event
The exact location of the event will not be shared publicly - it will be shared with all signed up attendees prior to the event.
As this event is being held in a public place (as opposed to having sole use of a private indoor space), we have hired professional security services to staff the event in case of harassment from the general public. This service is being provided by , an all-queer, peer-to-peer, trauma-informed, non-profit security service centred on harm reduction and inclusive, fair practice.
The staff member will be masked and will have taken a COVID test prior to attending. They have also undergone antiracism training and are experienced in de-escalation and working with queer and disabled communities.
About the organisers
We are a group of six immunocompromised / COVID-conscious Londoners organising monthly events for members of our community to safely socialise.
