Breathe Bravely's Backyard Bash began in 2014 in the founder Ashley Ballou-Bonnema's small backyard. Rooted in gratitude and to lift up the voices that support Ashley, the Backyard Bash brings people together to celebrate the act of breathing. The Backyard Bash inspired Ashley to form Breathe Bravely - a nonprofit with a global impact.Driven by its mission of giving voice to cystic fibrosis, Breathe Bravely impacted hundreds of people living with CF and thousands more who are supporting people living with CF. Breathe Bravely's signature program - sINgSPIRE - has provided more than 5,600 voice lessons since it started in 2017. It helps combat the effects of CF and empowers participants to be a catalyst for change within their communities.
In 2023, the Breathe Bravely Backyard Bash started a new tradition that continues to honor and celebrate its community by hosting the Backyard Bash at Levitt at the Falls - the unofficial beloved backyard of downtown Sioux Falls, SD. Our first event here was unforgettable, and amidst the pouring rain you helped raise over $23,000!
We're excited to bring another lively and unique music festival to the Lawn for 2024, sure to be unforgettable in its own beautiful way with returning favorites Midtown Coffee Radio Hour, Elena Goodrow, and Jennifer Lucy Cook with Maren Engel, Betty Kay Merkle, and Ashley Ballou-Bonnema.
