Join Tawny Saturdays on a Journey to Peace & Happiness through your breath
About this Event

The Healing Collective SD

Join us Saturdays at 9 AM.

About the experience...

The feelings of peace and safety have a natural desire to exist in our body. More often than not, external circumstances tend to disrupt this energy center, creating the feelings of unease, overwhelm, anxiety and stress. In this workshop we will explore ways to move stagnant energy and connect with our bodies, allowing us to feel light again.

Your facilitator, Tawny, will share integrative breathwork patterns to hold and cultivate more peace, safety, connection, and a powerful sense of presence from within. During the workshop you will be guided through some gentle movement, followed by a meditative breathwork session paired with soothing sound bowls. After participating in this event, you will understand what breathwork is, how it feels in your body, and methods to easily incorporate this peaceful and grounding practice into your daily life. This is a beginner friendly practice.

To make your experience as comfortable as possible, it is encouraged that you bring a blanket and yoga mat (if you have one). You will be lying down for an extended amount of time, so feel free to bring anything else that will allow you to feel more secure in your space (warm socks, beanie, pillow for under knees, crystals, essential oil, journal). Being comfortable can elevate your experience and support your ability to stay present.

Recommendation to limit food and liquids 1-2 hours before the session to prevent an upset stomach. Sanitized yoga mats and clean blankets will be available to borrow if needed.

Look forward to seeing new and familiar faces!

What does Breathwork do?...

The oxygen will flood the bloodstream and system, going exactly where it needs to. The oxygen heads to places of held stress and trauma to release it. Many people are able to begin to get out of a conscious state to tap into the unconscious experience visions. It is important to note that everyone has a different experience with breathwork, almost every time. You can be met with anything from a peaceful sensation to feelings of euphoria. You control how deep you go and what is right for you.

Breathwork has been proven to help people overcome anxiety, depression, PTSD and anger issues. Breathwork lowers inflammation in the body, repairs cells, and is something that can easily be transferred to improve health and happiness in your everyday life.

About the Practioner...

As someone who is consistently walking the walk, talking the talk,  she is a wonderful facilitator to practice with and learn from. She leads with heart centered compassion, creating a safe space for people to be seen, heard and acknowledged in their process.

Her wellness journey began back in 2014 with the introduction to Hot Vinyasa Yoga and in 2015 receiving her certification as a yoga instructor, RYT-200. Alongside growing as a yoga instructor and health advocate, she has also worked as a caregiver since 2014. Her specialty is supporting people with varying physical abilities as a result of caregiving intimately with an adolescent with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy for over five years. Blending the worlds of yoga and caregiving, she received certification for chair yoga in 2018.

The past two years she’s been caregiving for her 91 year old grandma. Through diet and lifestyle she was able to support the rejuvenation of her grandmother’s health. Within a year she helped her grandma get her off all pharmaceutical medications with the support of holistic remedies.

Ancient Tibetan Sound Healing entered her life in 2019 and breathwork soon after in 2020, both beginning as personal practices to support her own vitality and mental wellness. They provided such transformational shifts that she continued to study and deepen her relationship with these modalities with the intention of sharing with others. In 2021 she became certified as a breathwork facilitator through Pause Breathwork. She is currently enrolled in Tibetan Bowl Sound Healing School and Self Heal School for herbalism and energetic healing.

Tawny’s ability to hold space for physical and emotional wellbeing is a unique combination of skills, experience, training and intuition that create memorable energetic experiences. She meets people where they’re at and supports them in reflection to how they want to evolve and prosper in health.
