About this Event
Breath is Life
An evening of breathwork and connection by candlelight and concluding in a soundbath, with Alex and Ariel
Breath is Life is an active breathwork practice that helps us listen inward and connect to the wisdom of our hearts. Along our journey we will use essential oils and conversation prompts to open access to deeper layers of our emotional and energetic bodies for self-connection and healing. Whether you’re new to breathwork or an experienced practitioner, this practice will meet you wherever you are in your journey.
The style of pranayama breathwork we will be doing is not about forcing “results” or even reaching a specific goal; rather, it is an opportunity to remember and allow what is already inside to surface. We’ll use the life-giving power of the breath to move stuck energy, clear old patterns, and release what is no longer in service of our lives.
For the evening's concluding southbath, research in neuroscience and psychoacoustics has demonstrated that sound frequencies can influence brainwave states, reduce cortisol levels, and activate the parasympathetic nervous system. Specific frequencies promote neurological coherence and emotional regulation, making sound a powerful complement to this evening's practice.
Prior to our session, please journal on these prompts:
- What seeds are you planting in your life? What are the ways you wish to grow?
- Where do you feel stuck in your life?
- How did your parents or upbringing shape your beliefs around change?

- Essential oils created specifically for breathwork and earth elements to aid depth of exploration

Meet Alex
At age 11, I first discovered the power of breath through playing the trombone. Over my twenty-three years of studying and playing professionally, I spent countless hours thinking and practicing the perfect inhalation/exhalation for a given musical moment.
On that journey of studying and using my breath to create sound, I experienced a remarkable sense of inner peace - I mistakenly thought it was playing the music. When I first experienced breathwork, it was the first time I connected the dots that breath can open deeper doorways to self-connection and self-healing.
That led me to become a student of David Elliot, world-renowned author, teacher, and healer, and have completed his comprehensive Healer Training program. From that moment, I have been using breathwork to explore my inner realms, while gaining clarity and inner knowing in service of becoming the fullest expression of who I am. I am honored to share this beautiful practice with you, in community!
Meet Ariel
With over three decades of immersion in music and sound, Ariel brings a depth of experience to her work as a sound practitioner. A singer since the age of three, she has come to understand music as her first love. Today, she channels that lifelong relationship into sonic experiences that are both receptive and active, using instruments, mantras, and guided toning to support self-expression, nervous system regulation, and a deeper connection to self.
Ariel holds a BA in Ethnic Studies from Stanford, an MA in Occupational Therapy (OT) from USC specializing in Sensory Integration, and a Certificate in Psychedelic Therapies and Research from CIIS. Her OT training, in particular, gave her a clinical lens on nervous system regulation (how the body receives, processes, and responds to sensory experiences) that shapes how she approaches this work.
In both private and group sessions, Ariel brings together the science, the spirit, and her lifelong relationship to sound to extend a single invitation: to slow down, come back to yourself, and listen.
