This seminar aims to raise awareness, create a safe space for discussion, and empower both teens and families with knowledge and resources to promote better mental health.Teens often experience mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and stress from academic pressures. Many also struggle with low self-esteem and family problems, which can lead to unhealthy coping mechanisms.
Barriers to discussing mental health among teens include social stigma ,family dynamics that may lack understanding or support. Additionally, insecurities and peer pressure can prevent open communication about their struggles.
To address mental health challenges, it's essential to encourage open communication and create safe spaces for teens to share their feelings. Normalizing seeking professional help and fostering self-care practices.
o Q/A Session :
After the seminar, students will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the speaker, fostering an interactive and insightful discussion. This is a great chance to deepen their understanding of mental health and seek guidance on any concerns.
o Extempore Speech :
As part of Mental Health Day, we are hosting an Extempore Speech segment where students will be given topics related to mental health to speak on spontaneously.
This session aims to encourage thoughtful reflection and expression on mental well-being. Each participant will have 2-3 minutes to deliver their speech after a brief preparation period.
o Kindness Board :
The Kindness Wall is an initiative designed to foster a supportive and positive community environment. Participants are encouraged to write motivational messages or uplifting thoughts on sticky notes, which are then displayed on a designated wall or board.
This shared space serves as a source of encouragement, inspiration, and goodwill, allowing individuals to contribute their words of support for others to read and reflect upon.
