About this Event

You might see wheel-engraved designs on Victorian glass panels, old light fixtures, Venetian mirrors or on Victorian vases. These designs involve cutting into the surface of glass with small diamond wheels of many sizes and shapes, which allows for the carving of imagery and patterns into glass sheets and objects.  A variety of cuts are possible and when explored for their own inherent value, and integrated into an artist’s menu of glass working techniques, they can be used to enhance and extend works to a new level. Clear glass blanks and clear sheet glass will be provided; however students are welcomed to bring in their own glass objects to work on.   A short presentation on historical & contemporary cold working will compliment hands-on work.

What to Expect: Class time will alternate between demonstration and work time. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page.
