About this Event
Breaking the Silence Awareness Gathering
Join us for Breaking the Silence: A Cultural Healing Gathering - a day of truth, learning, and renewal. Guided by respected Elders Reg and Rose Crowshoe and Adrian Goulet, this gathering invites us to explore traditional ways of knowing and doing, the impacts of colonialism, historical trauma, residential schools, and cycles of violence. Together, weβll reflect on cultural pathways toward healing, reconciliation, and decolonization.
Elder Reg Crowshoe, a Piikani Blackfoot Knowledge Keeper and former Chief of the Piikani Nation, is widely respected for his leadership in bridging traditional Indigenous law and Western systems. Alongside Elder Rose Crowshoe, a cultural educator and ceremonial leader, they bring deep wisdom rooted in Blackfoot teachings, ceremony, and community healing.
Adrian Goulet, MΓ©tis knowledge keeper, dancer, and cultural educator, shares teachings through movement, song, and storytelling that honor resilience and identity.
The day will include ceremony, smudging, drumming, and song, creating a sacred space for reflection, connection, and healing. All are welcome to take part in this meaningful journey toward understanding and community renewal.
Breakfast and Lunch Provided.
