About this Event
When it comes to finding happiness, we are all in the habit of seeking it from things outside of ourselves, such as relationships, power, possessions, a good reputation etc. But these things never provide lasting happiness and more often than not, they can give rise to disappointment, conflict and unhappiness. Yet we keep trying to find happiness in this ordinary way which keeps us trapped in a cycle of suffering, always seeking but never finding what we long for. For this reason, Buddha taught about the inner obstacles of the eight worldly concerns, how to recognise them and how to overcome them.
In this day course, senior Buddhist teacher, James will introduce the eight worldly concerns and give practical advice on how we can use meditation and mindfulness to overcome them to develop authentic inner strength and resilience.
Each session will consist a talk and guided meditation. The final session will conclude with a Q&A.
Relax in the peaceful setting of Wootton, learn to connect with your heart and with like minded people, all working together to develop the qualities that really matter.
This day retreat will be held in the beautiful setting of Wootton.
