Ever wondered how yogis achieve balance in challenging postures? Or even, how to balance while doing simple tasks at home? Stephanie Cucina will "break down" balance poses in many different ways starting from the ground up! She will utilize props such as chairs, blocks, straps and the wall in order to take the "scaries" out of falling and help students to feel more supported.
Each week we will focus on a balance pose or two. We will begin our practices by warming up our bodies, getting into our mobility and activating our core strength because that is where our balance stems from. The first week we will focus on Eagle pose and then we will go from there based on the needs and desires of the students in the class.
Use of the chairs and the wall will help us with alignment and safety so hopefully when we go back to our regular yoga practice (without those props) we feel stronger and more confident to practice balancing poses. We will repeat the balances several times (and take lots of breaks too) in order to help build muscle memory for each of the postures. We will end all of the classes with lots of stretching, relaxation and Sound Healing (during Savasana) to help re-ground us and leave us feeling calm and more connected to our bodies, hearts and minds.
$75 for the 3-week series: 3 Saturdays in May: May 4, 11, and 18th, 2024. Or you can drop in to a single session for $35!
