Jacksonville is at its best when we’re united. Our new supper series, Breaking Bread & Barriers, will begin this October for a series of discussions around the theme, One Nation. OneJax. Using language from the Pledge of Allegiance as our guide, the four sessions will encourage participants to share respectful conversations around topics pertaining to the Pledge of Allegiance. For more than a decade, OneJax has been hosting Civil Discourse conversations and holding Community Suppers periodically throughout the year to bring people together. They come from different parts of town, different cultures and beliefs, and different political perspectives. These programs discuss different topics that impact the people of our city. This year we’ll be combining Civil Discourse and Community Suppers, bringing different people together to break bread and barriers.Session 2 on Janurary 23, 2025: “Indivisible” Has our community—or nation—ever been truly indivisible? It feels as if we’re further apart than ever before, so how can we overcome the forces and ideologies that separate us? Can we respectfully seek to understand one another even when we hold different beliefs?
The cost per attendee is $40 and helps OneJax cover food, venue, and speakers for this event.
