This conference will empower educators to create inclusive schoolenvironments that support students with intellectual disabilities,
including Down syndrome. Participants will learn research-based
reading strategies, explore reading development, and discover
practical tips for teaching diverse learners. The session will also
focuses on maximizing student participation and fostering a strong sense of belonging in the classroom.
The event will feature presentations from experts in the field, including Dr. Erik Carter from the Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities, Dr. Jenny Kimes and Dr. Susan Copeland. There will be a full day of programming on Friday, February 7th, designed specifically for educators, and a half-day on Saturday, February 8th, intended for parents. However, attendees are encouraged to sign up for both days if they are able to attend.
