Sunday, November 16 will be a very special Sunday at the Barre UU Church. The day will begin with our annual Bread Communion Service at 10 am. We will honor the practice of giving thanks at this time of year by sharing bread together. People are asked to bring some of their favorite bread to the service to share. Additional bread and crackers will be made available for those who cannot bring their own bread or who are gluten sensitive. Special music will be provided by guest musicians.
But, that is only the beginning of a great day! Right after the service we are going to share a hot blueberry pancake and scrambled egg breakfast by our resident master chef. As we share this meal we will also take some time to create bag fulls of the Master Mix–this is a special blend of flour and other ingredients that can be used with simple recipes (available on the church website) to make quick and easy meals.
We are also asking that we take up a special collection on that Sunday to help support the local food programs in our community who are having a very difficult time meeting the current demand for food.
