In Bread and Salt Theater Workshop, regardless of our profession or background, we are all actors with the opportunity to express our spoken and unspoken stories through the stage language. This workshop consists of four sessions designed to cultivate skills in body movement, voice, and improvisation for performance. Each session includes two hours of structured training and one hour to prepare a theatrical piece. After the course and additional rehearsals, this piece will be brought to the stage.Workshop Topics:
Session 1: "The Unfamiliar Body – Breaking Movement Patterns"
Discovering repetitive movement habits and developing a fresh, unexpected physical language
Session 2: "Powerful Words – Breaking Vocal and Verbal Norms"
Freeing speech from habitual patterns and exploring new modes of voice and expression through defamiliarization
Session 3: "Surprise in the Moment – Improvisation and Breaking Expectations"
Using improvisation to break mental frameworks and create spontaneous, authentic moments
Session 4: "Theatre as Change – Meaningful and Impactful Performance"
Applying acquired skills in Theatre for Change and crafting performances with more profound social impact
Ali Foumani, the workshop designer and facilitator, is a playwright and theater director with extensive experience in education, literature, and the social sciences. He has designed and facilitated over 50 educational workshops and previously conducted the Applied Theater Workshop in Pars Place.
The workshop will be conducted in Persian and is intended for participants aged 18 and older.
